Oscars 2010: Up wins the award for the Best Animated Film at the 82nd Academy Awards

2010 Oscar Beverly Hills, Mar 7 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Pete Docter picked up the Award for the animated movie ‘Up’. He thanked the cast and the crew of the movie effusely, while accepting the award. He felt that this award was for the whole team. The award was presented by Cameron Diaz and Steve, both of whom, are big fans of animated movies. Pete Docter is an American film director, animator and even a screenwriter. He has been nominated for the Oscars 4 times, and it was his lucky night tonight, as he picked up his very first award.

The world is waiting with bated breath to know who will win the other awards. The 82nd Academy Awards, popularly known as the ‘Oscars’ are being held at the Kodak Theater. A huge lineup of stars is present for the show, and it is a big night for the nominees, as they wait to join history, if they are named as the winner of the top honors in the acting industry in the whole world.

Harnish Hamilton is directing the 82nd Academy Awards ceremony, whereas Bill Mechanic and Adam Shankman are producing it. Like the co-host Alec Baldwin, it is also the director – Harnish Hamilton’s debut at the Oscars. The 5-times Oscar-nominated composer Marc Shaiman will be the music director for the 82nd Academy Awards.
