Oscars 2010: ‘The Hurt Locker’ wins the Best Original Screenplay Award at the 82nd Academy Awards

Beverly Hills, Mar 7 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Mark Boal of the ‘The Hurt Locker’ won the award for the Best Original Screenplay. He dedicated the awards to the troops in Afghanistan. He has another Oscar nomination tonight, and it remains to be seen if he will be a double winner tonight or not. He is also an American journalist. Besides being the writer of ‘The Hurt Locker’, the 1973-born Michael Boal is also the producer of this amazing 2009 war film. It is a nail-biting thriller about the Army EOD bomb squad.
The venue of the 82nd Academy Awards is the Kodak Theatre. Harnish Hamilton is directing the 82nd Academy Awards ceremony, whereas Bill Mechanic and Adam Shankman are producing it. Like the co-host Alec Baldwin, it is also the director – Harnish Hamilton’s debut at the Oscars. The 5-times Oscar-nominated composer Marc Shaiman will be the music director for the 82nd Academy Awards.
