Oscars 2010: Sandra Bullock wins the Best Actress Award

Sandra Bullock Beverly Hills, Mar 7 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Sandra Bullock has picked up the Best Actress Award for the movie ‘The Blind Side’. She thanked the Academy for honoring her with this award. She appreciated and talked about the other nominees in this category, and said that she would like to share the award with them. She thanked her family, and the cast and the crew of the ‘the Blind Side’. She choked on her tears, as she spoke about mothers and daughters. This is the very first Oscar nomination and win for the Miss Congeniality: Sandra Bullock.

The other nominees for this Award were Helen Mirren for ‘The Last Station’, Carey Mulligan for ‘An Education’, Gabourey Sidibe for ‘Precious: Based on the Novel `Push’ by Sapphire’ and the legendary actress Meryl Streep for ‘Julie & Julia’.

The venue of the 82nd Academy Awards is the Kodak Theatre. In this eventful evening, many winners have already been announced. The funny guys – Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin, are hosting the Award ceremony. Whenever they come onto the stage, then their appearance itself makes a few people in the audience giggle, and when they say something funny, then the whole theatre erupts into laughter.
