Little Rock, Oct 29, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Actress Lisa Blount who is best known for playing the role of Lynette Pomeroy in the highly acclaimed flick “An Officer and a Gentleman” was found dead at her home in Little Rock, Arkansas on Wednesday afternoon. The Oscar award-winning actress and producer was just 53 years of age at the time of her untimely demise. Although the exact cause of her death has not been confirmed to the media, the celebrated actress is known to have suffered from a condition known as Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP), which results from low levels of platelets in the blood.

Police authorities responded to an emergency call from the Little Rock, Arkansas home of Lisa Blount that she shared with her actor/director husband Ray McKinnon. The call was reportedly placed by her mother when she found “An Officer and a Gentleman” star dead in her bedroom. Despite the fact that the cause of the death of the noted actress has not been divulged by the police authorities, it has been emphasized that the probability of any foul play has been dismissed by the investigators. Meanwhile, it has been reported that her husband Ray McKinnon was out of the state of Arkansas when his Academy award-winning wife passed away.

Despite being best known for her role in “An Officer and a Gentleman,” during the span of her career, Lisa Blount was associated with a number of successful projects both in small as well as big screen. Apart from her acting skills, the “Picket Fences” star also produced three movies which included the 2002 Academy award-winning film “The Account.”
