Oscar Winner Cate Blanchett lends her voice to ‘Family Guy’

Los Angeles, April 29 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Hollywood Reporter has reported that FOX has hired Cate Blanchett to give a voice-over on the show “Family Guy.” The actress has been out of TV shows since she last appeared in the Australian show, Bordertown back in 1995. For ten episodes of the show, Cate played the role of Bianca. The Oscar-winning actress is currently doing her latest work in the movie “The Hobbit.”

The report says Cate’s episode of the show will be aired by FOX in the spring of 2012. There has been a host of celebrities who have worked on the “Family Guy” show. There have been previous appearances on the comedy show by Carrie Fisher, Drew Barrymore, Rainn Wilson, Patrick Stewart, Nina Dobrev and David Boreanaz.

The show is in the 9th season. The show’s season finale will be aired on the 22nd of May but reports say British comedian Ricky Gervais will lend a voice in an episode before the final episode is aired at that time.

Hollywood Reporter indicated that no further information was given concerning Cate’s episode on the show.
