Oscar Nominations For Best Original Song Revealed

The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences have announced the list of the 41 best songs scored in Hollywood ventures this year. According to reports, like the category of the best special effects in a movie, this list too will be shortened and cut down before the final nominations are announced on the 25th of next month. The Oscars are scheduled to go on stage on the 27th of February next year. Reports from Hollywood suggest that the selected songs will be played before the voting panel of the Music Branch of the Oscars in Los Angeles on the 6th of January, and it is this panel which will round up on the best songs to be featured in the final Oscar nominations.
To succeed to the final stage of the Oscar nominations, a song will have to show good music and lyrics and both will have to be original and relevant to the situation in which it is used in the film. The list which has been announced by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences places three songs from the film ‘Burlesque’ among the top five positions in the Best Original Song category.
Meanwhile, the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood is already making the necessary preparations to host the 83rd edition of the most prestigious movie award event in the world. This year, Hollywood actors Anne Hathaway and James Franco will be the hosts for the Oscar evening.
