Steve Martin & Alec Baldwin Beverly Hills, Mar 8 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The 2010 Oscars were co-hosted by the funny guys – Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin, who kept the audience in splits. The show was kick started by Neil Patrick Harris’s performance of ‘No One Wants To Do It Alone’. Then he introduced the two hosts of the show, and said that there were “the biggest pair since Dolly Parton.”

They made a grand entry on the stage, and made ample fun of the stars in the audience. “Ballots are sent out to 6,000 members of the academy,” Baldwin said. “And then, no matter what, they nominate Meryl Streep.” Whereas Steve Martin said that, “Everyone wants an Oscar, but they’re very hard to get”. They said that the gorgeous actresses holds the record for the maximum number of nominations as an actress. Then Martin said very cheekily that, she also holds the record for the maximum number of losses as well.

Then the both of them pointed out the Avatar director – James Cameron in the audience, and they took out their 3D glasses from their pockets, put it on and then acknowledged James Cameron. The whole audience was roaring with laughter. They also looked at the young members of the audience and they said to them, that they ought to look at the hosts carefully, because this how they are going to look 5 years down the line.

Later Steve Martin welcomed Sandra Bullock with “Please welcome my longtime dear friend, and by that, I mean I’ve never met her.”
