Orlando Bloom, Beth Ditto among big winners at Bambi Awards
November 13th, 2010 - 5:11 pm ICT by ANILondon, Nov 13 (ANI): Orlando Bloom and Beth Ditto ruled Bambi Awards in Germany.
A UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador since 2009, ‘The Pirates of The Caribbean’ actor Bloom was honoured with the Charity Bambi Award for his humanitarian work with children in some of the world’s poorest regions.
“I’ve fallen in love with your country,” the Daily Express quoted him as saying.
The Bambi Awards held in Potsdam, Germany, celebrate stars who affected and inspired the German public in a particular year.
Meanwhile, singer Ditto picked up the trophy for Best Pop International during the ceremony.
German rock star Udo Lindenberg got the Lifetime Achievement Award, while a rare posthumous prize was awarded to late controversial director Christoph Schlingensief, who died of lung cancer this August. (ANI)
