Oprah Winfrey celebrates O magazine’s birthday by gifting $10,000 & iPad to her staff members

New York City, Jun 18 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The very generous Oprah Winfrey celebrated the 10th birthday of the O magazine, by gifting her staff members $10,000 and an iPad each. And the best part was that the queen of talk show didn’t discriminate between the length of the services of any employee. All the employees were treated equal and were awarded the freebies.
A spokeswoman said that, “As a thank you for their hard work and dedication, Oprah Winfrey surprised the staff of O, The Oprah Magazine with an Apple iPad and a check for $10,000, to commemorate the magazine’s 10th anniversary.”
The total number of employees who benefited from the gifts was not known.
The generosity didn’t take all by surprise, as in the past too, she has surprised people with gifts. In an episode in 2004, she presented the entire audience with free cars.
Recently Oprah was in the limelight for all the wrong reasons. Kitty Kelley’s biography on the talk show queen had claimed that Kitty knows about Oprah Winfrey’s biological father. Oprah was very miffed with the sudden interest in her love life, and about who her biological father was. However she took everything in her stride, and said that ‘this too shall pass.’
