Oct 24, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Gabriela Pochinki, who is an internationally known Argentine opera singer is likely to face a jail term of around 90 days for allegedly assaulting a restaurant manager in Manhattan. The 41 year old opera diva was reportedly having dinner with her daughter on Sunday at the the Nice Martin restaurant of the hotel The Lucerne, when the incident took place.

Reportedly, Pochinki and her daughter were both having a noisy conversation with someone on the speaker of their cell phone, which was disturbing the other guests. On receiving repeated complaints from the guests, the restaurant manager Jeanette Josue asked the singer to talk softly but was dismissed. When finally the manager was forced to ask the singer to leave the restaurant, she allegedly pushed her away. A restaurant official also added that the entire incident has been captured in cameras installed in the restaurant. She was then handed over to the cops, who later released her. On Friday, the court adjourned Pochinki’s case and added that if she remained out of any kind of trouble for six months, then charges such as disorderly conduct and trespassing could be dropped against her.

Pochinki later apologized for her behavior and said that she is extremely sorry that the incident turned so ugly. Her business manager, William Kitainik has said that he found the entire episode difficult to believe as the opera diva is normally known for her peaceful nature.

Polsinki is a much famed international singer who has many albums to her credit, including an album that she produced in collaboration with Joe Jackson, father of Michael Jackson. She was also highly appreciated for her work in the musical ‘West Side Story’ in 2002.
