Only mineral water for Rahul Bose (Film Snippets)

New Delhi, March 13 (IANS) Rahul Bose is extremely conscious about the water he drinks and even while at an upmarket hotel in the capital recently, the suave actor demanded lemonade made out of “mineral water only”.
On being asked if he wished to drink something hot or cold, Rahul said he wanted a glass of lemonade. “Please make sure the water used is not tap water. It should be mineral water only,” he promptly added.


Saurav Ganguly can sing too

Indian cricketer Saurav Ganguly is best known for his powerful knocks on the field but few knew that he has another talent too before the Bengal tiger showcased his singing ability on a TV show.

On “Knights and Angels”, a talent hunt to choose cheer leaders for Indian Premier League’s (IPL) Kolkata Knight Riders team, Saurav enthralled his fans when he sang Rabindranath Tagore’s famour number “Ekla chalo re” with a contestant after being coaxed by host Purab Kohli. The song was a favourite of Mahatma Gandhi.

The show, produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s Red chillies Idiot Box, will be aired Saturday on NDTV Imagine.


No training needed to become a singer: Atif Aslam

While most musicians say that training is a prerequisite of a good singer, Pakistani singer Atif Aslam who has crooned popular Bollywood songs like “Woh lamhe” (”Zehar”), “Aadat” (”Kalyug”) and “Pehli nazar mein” (”Race”) feels that he is a born singer.

“A singer should not be criticised just because he is not trained as, according to me, you do not need training for singing,” said Atif on a special show which was broadcast Thursday on Radio One 94.3 FM in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Mumbai and Pune.

The singer, who is an ardent fan of Kishore Kumar, revealed that it was the legendary singer’s songs that inspired him to become a singer.
