Online MySpace auditions on for American Idol

america Sep 17 (THAINDIAN NEWS) American Idol is entering its 10th season and the show producers are choosing another way for potential “Idols” to enter the competition, through MySpace.

Interested participants can video themselves singing and upload their videos to MySpace for the audition.

Participants are required to choose from a pre-approved song list. The video should not have any accompaniment and should be 40 seconds long. Each contestant is allowed to enter the competition only through the video and the show’s judges will judge the video. The final list that are selected will then be contacted and called up to Los Angeles for callbacks.

The lower age limit for the competition has been dropped to 15 and the show will not have Simon Cowell, Ellen DeGeneres and Kara DioGuardi as judges in the upcoming season’s show.

The show has worldwide television audience since it was starred some ten years ago. It has got its fair share of controversy and it remains to be seen how the show will survive the absence of Simon Cowell who carted an image for himself as the toughest judge to please. Recently singer Jennifer Lopez came onboard as a judge for American Idol, with a pay package of a whooping $12 million.
