Washington, Aug 4 (ANI): American actor Ryan O’Neal has in an exclusive interview revealed that he fears he may have contributed to his late partner Farrah Fawcett’s cancer, because of the years of pain he put her through.

According to Vanity Fair, O’Neal, who dated the Charlie’s Angels star on and off for two decades, is convinced that leaving her in 1998, because she was going through menopause, and taking up with a younger woman, must have contributed to her developing the disease.

The two subsequently reconnected in 2001 after O’Neal was diagnosed with leukaemia, and he remained by Fawcett’s side throughout her struggle with anal cancer up until her death in June.

He, however, regrets causing her so much pain, and wishes he could turn back time.

“I would have been much kinder, more understanding, more mature. I’d lose some of the savagery. I don’t know how she got cancer; maybe some of it was me,” Contactmusic quoted him as having told the magazine. (ANI)
