One more copycat of ‘Tsotsi’ in Kollywood
February 22nd, 2010 - 9:08 pm ICT by Sampurn WireFebruary 22, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Director Gavin Hood must be very unhappy seeing so many unofficial remake of his South African film “Tsotsi’. Having won many international awards, “Tsotsi’ seems to be a favorite of every filmmaker in Tamil film industry.
Couple of months back, a serious issue broke out as Ameer’s “Yogi’ was reported to be an exact replica of “Tsotsi’. At least, Ameer made some modifications to remake the script, while the other film “Azhukkan’ seems to be a mere duplication including the climax.
Apart from wielding megaphone, Omesh Kesshar had handled story, screenplay and dialogues. He has produced the film under the banner of Solar Movies and donned lead role of a slum dweller as well. The film is slated to hit screens this weekend in few centers of Tamil Nadu.
Neela and Sanjitha have donned female lead roles with Venu Aravind and Jayashri taking on a prominent role.
