Olivia Newton-John’’s lost ex found?
February 1st, 2009 - 4:58 pm ICT by ANI ( Leave a comment )Melbourne, Feb 1 (ANI): Olivia Newton-John’’s ex flame, who was presumed dead after vanishing during a fishing trip, has reportedly been spotted.
Patrick McDermott, who was supposed to have drowned when he went missing during a fishing trip in June 2005, has apparently been seen living off the coast of Mexico.
Two months ago McDermott was spotted in Sayulita and US investigators think he has been visiting the fishing village regularly since he disappeared from a Californian fishing charter boat.
Oscar Perez, a local barista said McDermott, who is half-Korean, visited the cafe two months ago.
The revelation comes as it was revealed McDermott was believed to be using an alias.
“If he was just another American, I probably would have forgotten him, but we don”t get a lot of Asiatic people here so he stood out,”” Perez, 18, told The Sunday Telegraph.
“He was here in November, our high season, when the surfers are all in town, Perez added.
Private investigator Philip Klein said his team had first tracked McDermott 18 months ago after suspicious hits on their trap website, findpatrickmcdermott.com - a “spider site”” which tracks down the locations of people visiting the page.
Klein said locals confirmed seeing McDermott regularly in the village over the past two years.
“Seventeen people saw him there. The eyewitnesses say he would come (to Sayulita) for two or three days, and then he would disappear.
“We would track him on a chart and he would show up for two or three days and then he would disappear for seven, 14, 20 or 30 days. That indicates to us that he was working on a yacht and when the yacht was in harbor, he would take a couple of days and go up to a village and keep a very low-profile, he said.
McDermott dated the ”Grease” star for nine years.
Newton-John has since moved on, marrying American entrepreneur John Easterling in July last year. (ANI)
