He is back from the dead, literally. The former lover of Olivia Newton John, Patrick McDermott, is said to be alive and keeping well. McDermott had disappeared from the public eye abruptly, way back in 2005 and was assumed to be dead. Over the year, private investigators have been trying to sniff out his trail and it seems now they have achieved the feat.

Patrick had gone missing after he had left for a fishing trip off the coast of California. His wallet, keys and boat were left behind but there was no trace of him. Though, at that moment it was thought that he had fallen in to the water, his body was not traced. Which led many to arrive at the conclusion that he was not exactly dead and it was a different story altogether.

Patrick’s disappearance had caused the “Grease” actress a lot of heartache as the couple had dated for a span of nine long years. She ultimately got over her grief and married again in the year 2008.

It had been stated that mounting debts were the reasons that compelled him. At the time of the disappearing act, he was deeply immersed in debt, almost on the brink of bankruptcy, and the child support being paid to a former wife was also taxing him heavily.

Investigators believe that McDermott is presently working as a deckhand in a remote, small Mexican fishing town called Sayulita. A person, who claims to be the rep of Patrick, has said, “Pat has asked that I portray to you his innocence. Pat has committed no crime. Pat simply wishes to be left alone. Let him live his life in peace and harmony. He is safe and has started anew again in a new place both physically and mentally. Stop this search immediately.”
