Russian popstar and model Oksana Pochepa, 24, has admitted to being the girl photographed cavorting on a beach with Mel Gibson and adds that she is in love with the 53-year old actor. Just weeks after the photos showing Mel in the arms of another woman were released his wife Robyn Gibson, 52, filed for divorce after 28 years of marriage.

Pochepa was quoted as saying, “This is serious and I hope that our union will be real and strong and long-lasting. We are different people, but Mel is a grown man and knows precisely what he wants and me too — I know what I want.” She did not offer any more details, saying, “I would not like to say more right now.”

Pochepa’s statement comes after reports blamed Gibson’s divorce on “a Russian musician called Oksana”, wrongly thought to be Russian classical pianist Oksana Kolesnikova. But Kolesnikova, married and 31 years of age angrily denied being the reason for Gibson’s divorce suit saying, “I have no idea how this mistake has been made. I feel very upset. The only explanation is that the names Oksana have been confused. It is a very popular name in Russia.”

Mel might have to hand over half of his $64 million wealth as divorce settlement when it comes alsong. Mel has countered the divorce suit saying they had split as far back as 2006 and both have cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for seeking divorce. They have seven children from the marriage.
