August 28, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Sunanda Mitra’s new film “Ogo Bodhu Sundori’ was supposed to release this Friday but it got blocked from the theaters because of three controversial songs. Certain portions of the film will be reshot to replace the three songs in question. The film has a budget of 70 lakhs and an additional cost of 10 lakhs will be incurred due to the wasted efforts.

Mitra was told that Shovan Saha had the rights for the disputed songs and he was shocked when Kamal Bansal included the songs in the upcoming movie. Speaking on the event, Mitra said that it is extremely unfortunate but it has taught him not to have blind faith in anyone. Mitra also clarified that he never intended to steal the songs in the first place.

Babul Supriyo plays the lead role in the debated movie, when asked for his two cents; he referred himself as a silent onlooker. Babul Supriyo said that the songs were assigned to the film by the Music label head Shovan Saha. When asked about the copyright infringement issue, Supriyo said that it is not the singer’s duty to check the copyright issues of a song before recording for it. Supriyo has been assigned the duty to compose for the replacement tracks for the “Ogo Bodhu Sundori”, but he did not seem very excited about the idea.
