Nude portrait of Roman Polanski up for grabs
November 26th, 2009 - 4:47 pm ICT by ANILondon, Nov 26 (ANI): A portrait featuring film director Roman Polanski and his late wife actress Sharon Tate embracing in the nude is set to go under the hammer.
The picture had been taken in 1969 by photographer David Bailey just months before Tate was murdered by members of the Charles Manson cult in Los Angeles, reports the Daily Star.
The portrait, which shows Polanski, 76, and Tate intertwined, is expected to sell for as much as 7,500 pounds, with a similar shot sold for just over 10,625 pounds in a 2006 London auction.
The item will go up for sale on December 7 in New York. (ANI)
