May 13, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): The nominations for the 37th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards have been enunciated. It has come into view that the American drama series, ‘General Hospital’, is the program that has surfaced at the pinnacle. The program has procured a sum of 18 nominations, counting ‘Outstanding Daytime Drama Series’.

Nonetheless, ‘General Hospital’ is encountering unbending competition. It is up against the likes of ‘All My Children’ and ‘The Young and the Restless’. The latter program has emerged as the program with the second-highest total of nominations i.e.16 nominations. ‘General Hospital’ will have to deal with dogged competition also from ‘The Bold and the Beautiful.’ The television series designed to target children, ‘Sesame Street’, has become visible as the program with the third-largest number of nominations, with it having acquired a total of 14 nominations.

‘One Life to Live’ and ‘As the World Turns’ are the programs, which have emerged with 13 nominations apiece. Amongst the catalog of chat shows, it was ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ that was the unquestionable leader , with 8 nominations in all, including ‘Outstanding Talk Show’, but not ‘Outstanding Talk Show Host’.

Astoundingly, ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’ has only managed to procure four nominations. It is scheduled to finish next year. ‘Today’, ‘Rachael Ray’, ‘The Bonnie Hunt Show’ and ‘Live with Regis & Kelly’ achieved three nominations apiece. The Awards ceremony will come to pass on June 27th.
