No sitar for Norah Jones
February 12th, 2010 - 1:15 pm ICT by ANIWashington, Feb 12 (ANI): Norah Jones has no plans of mastering the sitar as the instrument has left her father Ravi Shankar and half-sister Anoushka Shankar with twisted backs.
The multiple Grammy Award winner revealed that she once took sitar lessons from Anoushka but later realized it wasn’t her cup of tea, reports Contactmusic.
She says, “It was fun, but you have to twist your back all around. My dad and Anoushka both have twisted backs from playing so much.
“And you have to sit cross-legged. See, that ain’t cool! I can’t imagine doing a world tour cross-legged.” (ANI)
