London, Mar 3 (ANI): Carla Bruni failed to win a single nomination in Frances equivalent of the BRITS, the prestigious Victoires de la Musique awards.

After garnering much attention following the launch of her third album Comme si de rien n”etait (As If Nothing Happened), Carla was expected to sweep the board at the awards.

She had been tipped as a contender for female artist of the year, album of the year, original song and video of the year, reports The Telegraph.

But while 44 artists were put up for prizes at the 24th Victories, Carla was snubbed.

Other French female singers who were honoured, include Johnny Depps girlfriend, Vanessa Paradis, whose last hit song was Joe Le Taxi back was in 1987.

Carlas third albums sales have been falling and she has been forced to cancel her live tours because of her day job as First Lady of France.

A source at the Victories who is close to the First Lady said: “Buying a Carla CD became very uncool after she married Mr Sarkozy, especially when she started dedicating her love songs to him.

“The snubs and humiliations have convinced Carla that the end of her music career is in sight, and that she should be looking for another hobby.” (ANI)
