London, July 2 (IANS) Hollywood actress Cameron Diaz has revealed that “Shrek Forever After” will be her last film as Princess Fiona.
The 37-year-old actress admits it’s heartbreaking for her to bid farewell to her character in the “Shrek” series, insisting it means a lot to her.

“It’s funny because I didn’t realise how big a part of me Fiona and Shrek have been for the last 10 years. I suppose I just took it for granted,” mirror.co.uk quoted her as saying.

“You know, I always thought I’d get another call and we’d start the next one. I’d get to hang out with Shrek, Donkey and Puss and we’d have a great time, going in every few months to do a little bit more. But it’s not going to be that way now.”

The actress went on: “It’s kind of heartbreaking. It has been such a privilege and honour for me to be a part of something that is so good in so many ways. I don’t mean just as a successful film, but for what it puts out into the world, how it speaks to people and how they relate to it. It’s a wonderful thing to be a part of and a real honour.”
