No more Cole on Cheryl’s merchandise
May 30th, 2010 - 3:37 am ICT by IANSLondon, May 30 (IANS) Singer Cheryl Cole has dropped her surname from her latest merchandise line, which now has only Cheryl written on it.
The Girls Aloud singer revealed her branded T-shirts, posters and bags on her official website on the day she filed divorce plea from his footballer husband Ashley Cole and the word Cole was missing from the items, reports dailystar.com.
“Cheryl approved the merchandise months ago before any of the marriage problems exploded. But after she decided that she was definitely going to divorce him, it would have been strange to release it still emblazoned with his name all over it. So they had to make a decision to remove her surname, especially after they knew it would hit her website on that particular day,” said a source.
A spokesperson of Cheryl said that a decision has not yet been made on whether Cheryl will actually revert to her maiden name of Tweedy.
“We have no comment to make regarding the merchandise. With regards to her name, no decision has been made about this yet,” said the spokesperson.
