No buyers for Selvaraghavan’s ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’
October 2nd, 2009 - 8:32 am ICT by Sampurn WireSelvaraghavan’s magnum opus “Aayirathil Oruvan’ seems to be drenched in troublesome moments, as there are no buyers for the film. According to the trade reports, it has been revealed that distributors are unwilling to buy the film due to high-cost factors.
Sources have stated that the project took off with a pre-designed budget of Rs.15-17Crores, but ended up with 32 Crores. Eventually, Producer R. Ravendran seems to be desolated with distributors leaving his calls unanswered. It’s worth mentioning that Ravendran’s previous film “Vaamanan’ was a terrific flop at box office.
Buzz is that the producer had plans about selling the rights to leading network, which is holding big Tamil projects. Unlikely, they’ve turned down the offer due to big sum. In the past, it has been much evident that films produced with a budget between Rs.5-6 Crores had witnessed big collections on box office, while the big tickets churned out with minimum budget of Rs 25 Crores flunked out.
