Nirvana’s ‘Nevermind’ to be re-released

New York City, June 23 (THAINDIAN NEWS) June 2011 would mark the 20th anniversary since the highly successful album “Nevermind” was released. The album was released by Nirvana and Universal which is the record label for the band has announced that they will re-release the album. The album served as the breakthrough project for Nirvana.

The project will be released on four CD sets and will also feature other recordings which have not been released before. The package will be released in the United States on the 20th of September. A day before the release, fans in the United Kingdom will be offered the package.

During an interview with the Rolling Stone, Dave Grohl promised fans that they will like what they will get on the package. The album was the first to feature Grohl as drummer.

Grohl told the magazine that, “We have a few things up our sleeves. I can’t really say anything yet. But you’ll see. It’ll be fun.”

The album was highly successful and topped several charts worldwide. Spin magazine said the album “pushed the grunge revolution to the top of the album charts.” The album managed to sell about 30 million copies throughout the world making it one of the greatest in history.
