No sooner that Shawne Merriman was charged for assaulting his girlfriend, the TV reality star, Tila Tequila, who reportedly said that she is allergic to alcohol after Shawne’s defense attorney claimed that she was way too drunk; the owner of the nightclub where Tila and Shawne had spent their Saturday night surfaced in order to blast Tequila off due to her claim.

According to sources, James Brennan, who operates the widely popular Stingaree nightclub in San Diego’s Gaslamp district lashed out at Tequila who claimed that she wasn’t high on alcohol content when the alleged dispute took place. Employees of the club had reportedly told Brennan that the reality tv star had multiple shots of tequila and was drinking a bottle of vodka on that very night. Brennan said that he was apparently compelled to come up front when Tequila posted that she is allergic to alcohol in her Twitter page.

“It sounds like as if she is allergic to the truth,” said Brennan to the Associated Press, who seemed to be disgruntled by Tequila’s comments. Earlier, Tequila told the police authorities that she was reportedly choked and was thrown to the floor by his boyfriend, the San Diego Chargers star, Shawne Merriman, when she desperately tried to leave his home. She later signed a citizen’s arrest warrant thereby charging Merriman with false imprisonment and battery.

In her Twitter page Tequila reportedly said that she is allergic to alcohol, after speculations that the star was drunk when the incident took place.

“I am allergic to alcohol. It has been publicly known for years. That’s why I got the name Tila Tequila because of the ‘irony’ that I don’t drink.” Brennan charged back claiming that she was intoxicated that night. “I feel sorry for the guy. I think the truth should be told,” said Brennan.
