20th Century Fox’s “Night at the Museum 2′ has got the highest opening in India for a comedy film out of Hollywood this year!
The Ben Stiller starrer released in India on July 24th and has grossed Rs. 2.3 Crores across India, with a collection of Rs. 1 Crore from Maharashtra alone, beating the previous highest grossing comedy “The Hangover’ in box office collections.
Night at the Museum 2 is a sequel to the 2006 super hit where security guard Larry Daley (Stiller) is once again embroiled in an astonishing adventure with a host of enthralling historical figures who have come to life.
The action takes place in Washington D.C.’s Smithsonian Institute, where the former museum security guard falls for aviation pioneer Amelia Earhart (Amy Adams) and joins together his old pal, the miniature cowboy Jedediah (Owen Wilson) and others including Teddy Roosevelt (Robin Williams) and Albert Einstein (Eugene Levy) to defeat a group of notorious villains who are plotting a dastardly takeover of the museum.
