NIFT Students To Represent India At Montana World Of Wearable Arts Show
July 29th, 2010 - 2:45 pm ICT by Sampurn WireJuly 29, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): The Montana World of Wearable arts awards show of 2010 in New Zealand will take place in September 23 and 24. India will be represented at this extravagant event by the fashion designing students of the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT).
The name of the lucky designers, who were selected to take part at the event include Amit Rajak and Ang Narboo of FD – VII, Delhi Centre, Sandhya Maduri of FD – VIII, Tushar Chabra graduate of F and LA, Delhi Centre, Sangeeta Patra of FD – VII and Bikramjeet Bhomik of FD – V, Delhi Centre.
The institute was set up in 1986 under the tutelage of the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India. Now it is considered as the leading institute of design management and technology.
The Montana WOW Arts Show is conducted every year in New Zealand with an audience of 35,000. This two hour show is a theatrical extravaganza with wonderful sets, music, dance, lighting, and world class choreography.
Every year the judges select 150 designer outfits, which are created by the fashion designers from all over the world including New Zealand. Among these, one winner is selected who gets prize money of over $100,000.
