Nicole Scherzinger appointed as judge on ‘X Factor’
June 7th, 2011 - 7:36 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattLos Angeles, June 7 (THAINDIAN NEWS) FOX has completely dashed any hopes held by British singer Cheryl Cole of coming back to the US “X-Factor” show when they confirmed that Nicole Scherzinger will indeed be a judge.
With Nicole given a role on the panel of judges, Steve Jones remains the only host of the show for now. The announcement by FOX finally puts to rest any argument on who will be the final judge on the X Factor US show. Already Antonio “L.A” Reid, Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul’s role on the show have been confirmed.
The story of Cheryl being axed from the show has dominated the media for some time. Initial reports said the show’s executives out of concern that Cheryl’s accent might be a problem for the show terminated the contract of the Girls Aloud singer. Another report by the Hollywood Reporter said the decision to drop Cheryl from the panel of judges was because she failed to blend with the other judges during the auction of the show.
The show is currently at the audition stage and the final show is expected to premiere in September. The show is exclusive to FOX in the United States.
