Aug 16, (THAINDIAN NEWS) “The Simple Life” actress Nicole Richie made an announcement last Friday which really surprised her fans. The American socialite and television celebrity who has been engaged to “Good Charlotte” singer Joel Madden announced in the homepage of her social networking site that the couple has welcomed a new member in their family. The fans of the singer and the actress were happy to know that the new addition in their family is her cat Tabitha!

Nicole Richie mentioned in her social networking site that she and Joel Madden has welcomed a new addition in their growing family. The actress described the incident on her homepage saying that one “dark and lonely” night she heard the cat crying outside her home. She thought it was Joel Madden crying and then later realized that it was not him but the cat which was there outside the home. The socialite revealed that the cat, which she named as Tabitha looked “sad” and hungry. Nicole Richie at first thought that the kitten belonged to the neighbor, hence she ignored it.

Nicole Richie also mentioned on her homepage that the cat returned after a week and it looked “skinny”. The actress wrote that by seeing the cat she could say that it was “starving”. She felt sorry for the cat and then could not resist herself. She fed the cat and it was happy like “Benji Madden” in a “sorority” house! Tabitha is with Nicole Richie and her family for two months now and the actress feels that its safe to call the cat a part of their family. Nicole Richie and Joel Madden confirmed their engagement in February 2010 and the couple has two children, Harlow Winter Kate Madden (daughter) and Sparrow James Midnight Madden (son).
