Los Angeles, Aug 16 (THAINDIAN NEWS) It seems like Nicole Richie’s home is a safe abode for cats that don’t have anywhere to go after the fashion designer wrote on the popular social networking and microblogging site Twitter that she had been keeping a stray cat in her home after she found her wandering in her neighborhood.

She said she had found the stray cat crying in the night around her home and thought she was just out for the night, so Richie didn’t really pay any attention to it since the cat looked well kept and healthy.

However the cat returned after a week and looked hungry and lean. Richie had no option but to give her food. She then found her a cage to live in and has been taking care of it ever since. She said that, “She was so skinny and I could tell she was starving. I couldn’t resist. I fed her, and she was as happy as Benji Madden in a sorority house. It’s been 2 months now, so I think it’s safe to call her mine.”

Richie has named the cat Tabatha Jones Madden and it now lives with her family. The cat hangs out with the family everywhere and can even be spotted in the family photos. Richie believes she’s now the cat’s official owner.
