Washington, Dec 23 (ANI): Nicole Richie and her beau Joel Madden treated 200 kids to an early holiday celebration.
The duo, whose baby is due in January 2008, is said to have got an early dose of parenthood, after throwing a party at Paramount Studios in Los Angeles on Dec 21.
“We really wanted to give these kids a really wonderful and special Christmas,” People quoted Richie as saying.
“It’s our favorite holiday,” she added.
The two played the role of Mr. And Mrs. Claus by giving away new pairs of Stride-Rite shoes and Cloud B Cuddle Cub teddy bears to children from Beyond Shelter, a program helping families combat homelessness and poverty.
The party had face painting, balloon animals and hot dogs, and Richie added to the revelry, which made her an immediate favorite with the kids, by teasing “Who wants to throw pies in Joel’s face?
“It’s fun for us to be with a bunch of kids who are having a good time,” Madden said.
“They make you smile. Hopefully for today they’re feeling special. The foundation is really important to me [and] it’s really important to Nicole.
“We’re just really happy to be a part of the community and celebrating with these kids who haven’t been as fortunate as us,” he added. (ANI)
