Nicole Kidman’s comeback to Broadway in 2011

September 20, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Nicole Kidman fans should be rejoicing after hearing this bit of news. The famous Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman has planned to return to Broadway, possibly in 2011.

She would star in a revival of the play called Sweet Bird of Youth, written by Tennessee Williams. This was revealed by a particular production spokesman on Friday. The spokesperson also said that the work is still in the pipeline and the production house has every intention to move forward.

Kidman who turned 43, this June first appeared on Broadway more than a decade ago and garnered mixed reviews. She first appeared in David Hare’s play “The Blue Room” in the year 1998. This was a completely sexually explicit play that included a short nude scene.

The actress, was raised in Australia and after a few films, she went on to win the coveted Oscar for her role as the writer Virginia Woolf in movie The Hours in the year 2002.

The Broadway play Sweet Bird of Youth was staged for the first time on Broadway way back in the year 1959. This revival is to be directed by David Cromer.
