Nov. 19, (THAINDIAN NEWS) America’s Next Top Model, has churned out its first petite model-winner, Nicole Fox, who just hits the 5′7 mark. The 18-year-old, resident of Louisville, who just completed her graduation last year, has made it to the top slot, with the reward of a $100,000 contact with ‘Covergirl Cosmetics’, and a contract with Wilhelmina Models for representation. The student of University of Colorado, will also be appearing on the coverpage of ‘Seventeen’ and will be given a six-page spread inside the magazine.

The arts student said, that her dream job “would have to do something with art, modeling and even writing”. Once she won the very much coveted title on Wednesday, she was shocked to the core and said that “I’m a dork and I’m America’s next Top model’”.

On Wednesday the two finalists, Laura and Fox were pitted against each other, and had to shoot a Covergirl cosmetic commercial. Laura, who was unlucky enough to stumble on the run-way due to her dyslexia, and coming up blank when asked to be emotional for the shoot, ultimately failed to deliver and had to let go off the title. Even Fox, was criticized by Jay Manuel, saying that he did not exactly like the way she “read her commercial, which made her sound like a snob”. Tyra Banks and the panel of judges, however, went with Fox, and Tyra even said, “You are a star. You have it”, to moralize Fox.

Fox said that the “journey was very hard” and that she has learned a lot from the venture. She further says that she is not a top model but just another girl next door who was taken as someone who was very shy and awkward on the show. Seems like the judges thought otherwise.
