Los Angeles, Jan 19 (THAINDIAN NEWS) The financially troubled actor Nicolas Cage has said that he intends to pay back all the IRS dues that are pending. He revealed that he has every intention to pay back all the pending taxes, that he currently owes to the government. He said to a publication that during the course of his illustrious career, he has paid around $70 million in taxes and he owes about $14 million now, which he has every intention of paying back.
When talking about his debt to the Internal Revenue Service, the actor said his new management team is helping him resolve his financial problems. “However, I am under new business management and am happy to say that I am current for 2009, all taxes will be paid, including any to be determined state taxes,” he said.
It may be recalled that in October 2009, Nicolas Cage had filed a lawsuit against Samuel J. Levin and his firm. “Instead of protecting and preserving Cage’s wealth during one of the greatest economic periods in the country’s history, Levin placed Cage in numerous highly speculative and risky real estate investments, resulting in Cage suffering catastrophic losses,” the lawsuit stated. Samuel J. Levin served as Nicolas Cage’s business manager for the time period 2001 to 2008 and collected millions of dollars in management fees, the court documents stated.
