Los Angeles, Oct 27 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Nicki Minaj has released a singles video ahead of her highly anticipated debut album.

The music video “Check It Out” features will.i.am and it pays tribute to Japanese anime.

Her fans were however expecting her to release the video with her new album. The rapper however had different idea and she tweeted to her 1.5 million Twitter followers that, “So ya didn’t get tracklisting butchya got the ‘check it out’ video. Doesn’t mama always come thru w/smthn? *awkward smile & big eyes”

The rapper’s performance at the MTV Music Video Awards this year was overshadowed with controversy after will.i.am appeared in what many people perceived as “black face”. However on the current video, will.i.am has taken the opposite side to that and appears as “white face”. It remains to be seen if the criticisms will follow shortly as well or not.

Minaj feels that her fans will really respect her work. That is exactly what she promises her fans in her upcoming album. The singer has performed with Mariah Carey, Christina Aguleria, Rihanna, Usher, Ludacris and Robin Thicke this year alone and she feels her fans are tired of seeing her in collaborations.

In an interview with Pop & Hiss earlier this summer, the singer said that, “The collaborations won’t be the most exciting part of my album, so I really don’t like to talk about it too much; there will be collaborations, they’ll always be dope. What’s more exciting to me that I think my fans will love is finally being able to play a CD that’s just Nicki Minaj. I think that’s what they want”.
