October 16th, 2010 - 3:05 am ICT by Angela Kaye MasonOct 15 (THAINDIAN NEWS) An English language news anchor for the Finnish broadcaster ‘YLE’ was fired recently for drinking beer on the set of the newscast. While discussing a segment about bars which were fined for breaking the rules of their liquor license, Wilska took a swig from a beer bottle, just as they cut back to the studio. It is unclear whether there was actually beer in the bottle.
Wilska stated that the beer bottle was meant as a prank inside the studio and was not meant to be televised, but that the editors had cut back to him far too early. He was fired regardless.
The news anchor is experiencing all kinds of support online, however, including a Facebook page which currently has 47,663 fans, and the editors of ‘Buzzfeed’ are planning to get drunk on live Ustream in support of Wilska.
