The producer added, “We wished to work with the director Craig Brewer since we watched his Hustle & Flow. The movie will open in 2011 with fresh and contemporary vision of Brewer. It will surely appeal to the new generation of moviegoers.”

Craig’s partner Neil Meron will be producing as well. Choreographer Jamal Sims will choreograph will be handling the dance moves.
In a press release, Craig Brewer said, “When I was 13 year old, I watched Footloose in my hometown theater. The movie rocked my world, which showed teenage rebellion. I promise the fans of the movie that I will try to keep the spirit of the original film. It’s going to rock again.”
