‘Tree Man’ Dede Koswara’s recent photos show that he is on his way to complete recovery from the rare disease which changed his appearance from human to that of a tree. Dede Koswara has reportedly undergone 9 months of treatment and doctors say that he will soon get back to a regular life where he will be able to walk around and even write with his fingers. In one of the photos that have been released of the Indonesian villager, it is seen that his condition is significantly different from what it was back in 2007.
Dede Koswara suffered from a rare disease which the doctors identified as HPV (Human Pappiloma Virus). The disease caused his hands and feet to grow branches of wood. It made him appear like a creature straight out of science fiction movies that also earned him the name ‘tree man’ worldwide. His condition was recognized by some international doctors who helped provide him with the treatment that led to his recovery so far. In the videos of Dede on YouTube it is evident that he was unable to lead a normal life owing to the growth of woody structures from his hands and feet.
Dede Koswara was initially a fisherman in an Indonesian village but later he was unable to move around due to the disease. He revealed in the YouTube video that he also had two children who he was unable to provide for because of his conditions. His children too said that they feel sorry for their father. Dede had even joined a circus as a freak after the disease spread further and branches started to appear from his hands and feet.
