Apr 14 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Prell shampoo has a new model/spokesperson for their product, and for their choice, the apple didn’t fall far from the tree. This time, however, they did not pick a beautiful blonde to show off her locks for their shampoo ad, but the gorgeous brunette, Alexa Ray Joel.

Alexa Ray Joel, 24, was born in Manhattan, New York on December 29, 1985. The singer, songwriter, and piano-playing beauty just happens to be the daughter of Billy Ray Joel, and the original “Prell Girl” Christie Brinkley. And Alexa is all set to follow in her mom’s footsteps, so to speak. Her daughter will be the new “Prell girl, after Christie’s 25 year reign. The younger woman shared her excitement at the announcement, “I am so excited and honored to be named the new face of Prell — especially following in the footsteps of my mother, who was a Prell girl!” Her commercial, as well as her mother’s can be seen below.

It is definitely not the first time the famous couple’s daughter has been in the spotlight. At the young age of seventeen, she was honored at Berklee College of Music’s Five Week Music Fest. She has also appeared at various performances in New York City, Maxwell’s (Hoboken, New Jersey) and for the 2006 nationwide Hard Rock Cafe Tour. She and her father have been collaborating this year for her upcoming album. She also plans to continue to raise awareness for depression. She had a recent suicide attempt following a painful break up, that thankfully did not cause severe injury. On her Facebook page she stated, “I have many exciting new developments for the New Year,” adding, “Most importantly, [helping] young girls with something I feel I know a GREAT deal about: Heartbreak-Related Depression.”
