London, April 26 (IANS) Hollywood movie bosses are taking the comic book heroes “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” back to the big screen, in order to mark the 25th anniversary of the amphibian crime fighters.
The turtles namely Leonardo, Michaelangelo, Raphael and Donatello are back in the limelight, as Tribeca Film Festival organizers celebrated their 1984 creation by Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman, with a special bash in New York City April 23, reports

The celebrations included a special screening of the “Ninja Turtle” films for fans who were invited to turn up dressed as the four, while the Empire State Building was lit green in their honor.

Set for release in 2011, the new film will focus on the original 1980s Turtles comic books and will be the fifth installment in the “Ninja Turtle” movie franchise.

“The original dozen comics created by Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman are some of the best source material one could hope for,” said Scott Mednick, the producer of the movie.
