New Jersey Governor Says ‘Jersey Shore’ is a Disgrace to State
July 26th, 2010 - 11:59 pm ICT by Angela Kaye MasonJuly 26 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Chris Christie, who is the governor of the state of New Jersey is not at all happy with the television show entitled ‘Jersey Shore’ which he feels is a poor representation of his state, and is obviously not a fan of the reality TV show’s stars, namely, Snooki, Pauly D, and The Situation.
“It is negative for New Jersey. What it does is takes a bunch of New Yorkers, drops them at the Jersey Shore and tries to make Americans feel like this is New Jersey,” Christie complained to ‘ABC’s This Week’ show.
“I can tell people, they want to know what New Jersey really is? I welcome them to come to New Jersey. The Jersey Shore is a beautiful place, and someplace that everybody should come on vacation.” Christie said to John Tapper.
Pauly D is from Rhode Island, however, and the last season of the show actually was filmed in Miami, Florida at Miami Beach, but the governor’s sentiment is understood. The show debuted last year on MTV as a reality show which focuses on a group of people who live in work together during the summer in Seaside Heights, New Jersey.
The show kicked the cast, Snooki, The Situation, and others to immediate stardom, and has now reached beyond spending one summer in Jersey. The next season of the show will premiere this Thursday at 10 pm on MTV. According to ‘US Magazine’ “The entire cast will be returning to Seaside Heights for season three. There were rumors that some cast wouldn’t return and that was the case at one point, but creators changed their minds.”
