New Cop Drama “Rookie Blue” Premieres On ABC

rookie-blueJune 25, (THAINDIAN NEWS) “Rookie Blue,” the new cop drama was premiered on ABC, Thursday, June 24, 2010 at 9 p.m. EST and it was aired simultaneously on Global Television in Canada. The one hour cop drama is a joint venture between Canwest Broadcasting and ABC and produced by E1 Entertainment and the show recorded hefty amount of viewers as they watched the thrill and actions of the show. The viewers on the first episode saw enthusiastic, earnest cops comfortable in carrying guns and shouting commands into the car radios.

The plot “Rookie Blue” is interesting and the channel expects a good response from the viewers, the story revolves around five rookie cops who have graduated from the Academy and the twists and turns of their daily expeditions and adventures makes “Rookie Blue” a worth watch. Missy Peregrym plays the role of 26 years old Andy McNally who always dreamed to be a cop and the other star-cast comprises of Travis Milne as Chris Diaz, Enuka Okuma as Traci Nash, Charlotte Sullivan as Gail Peck and “Everhood” fame Gregory Smith as Dov Epstein. These five cops have different characteristics of their own which will be seen in the upcoming episodes. The first episode highlighted Andy McNally’s life, her ambition as she is the head rookie who tries to adjust to her difficult childhood by helping others.

“Rookie Blue” deals with the issues of daily crimes like domestic violence, prostitution, drug bust etc. which the five cops deal with. The whole cast of the drama is enthusiastic about “Rookie Blue” and they expect the viewers will like their performance. Missy Peregrym in an interview said that “Rookie Blue” is the first Canadian show she has done and she mentioned the show was “one of the best shows” she had worked on.
