Neil Patrick Harris to host Tony Awards?

Los Angeles, May 5 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Deadline Hollywood reports that Neil Patrick Harris has been tasked to host the Tony Awards this year. Harris successfully hosted the awards in 2009 which earned him an Emmy Award.

Harris has been successful regarding hosting of previous awards. After hosting the Tonys in 2009, Harris has gone ahead to host the Primetime Emmys and gave a musical performance during the Oscars in March of 2010.

The Tony Awards will come off at the Beacon Theater in New York on the 12th of June. CBS has the singular honour to broadcast the event in the United States. This year’s event will be the 65th in the history of the awards.

The “How I Met Your Mother” star has made a mark for himself with the way that he handled the Broadway awards in 2009. There has been no confirmation from Harris camp or that of the organizers of the awards.

Regardless of the fact that there has been no official confirmation, “Modern Family” star Jesse Tyler Ferguson took to Twitter to congratulate Harris. The tweet said that, “Congrats to @ActuallyNPH for returning as host of the 2011 Tony Awards. He was brilliant a few years ago and will be brilliant again.”
