Neil Patrick Harris announces engagement
June 27th, 2011 - 7:15 am ICT by IANSLos Angeles, June 27 (IANS) Actor Neil Patrick Harris has announced that he and his partner David Burka are planning to get married, after gay marriage was legalised in New York last week.
The 38-year-old plays ladies man Barney Stinson in the TV show “How I Met Your Mother”, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
“It PASSED! Marriage equality in NY!! Yes!! Progress!! Thank you everyone who worked so hard on this!! A historic night! David and I did propose to each other, but over five years ago. We’ve been wearing engagement rings for ages, waiting for an available date (sic),” Harris posted on micro-bloggng site Twitter.
Neil and David have been in a relationship since 2004 and became parents to twins Gideon Scott and Harper Grace in October last year via a surrogate mother.
