Aug 12 (IBNS) Actor Liam Neeson made his first public appearance since the death of his wife, actress Natasha Richardson.

The Detroit News reported that the actor walked the red carpet at the New York City screening of Neeson’s new film Five Minutes of Heaven.

The actor told members of the press Tuesday all personal questions were strictly off-limits. Richardson died in March after falling during a skiing lesson and suffering a head injury. The couple married in 1994 and had two sons together.

When asked what his version of heaven would be, the 57-year-old said it’s being with his boys and he’s “kind of living it at the moment.”

In the film, Neeson plays a former member of an outlawed Northern Ireland paramilitary group who’s haunted by memories of murder. The movie opens in select U.S. theaters Aug. 21.

The film also stars James Nesbitt and is a fictionalized version of real events, telling the story of 17-year-old UVF member Alistair Little who murdered a 19-year-old Catholic, Jim Griffin, in Lurgan in 1975. Jim’s murder was witnessed by his 11-year-old brother, Joe Griffin. Joe Griffin is played by James Nesbitt while the role of Alistair, 30 years on, is played by Liam Neeson.
