Oct 29, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The Halloween themed holiday special on NBC was aired on October 28 at 8pm and it ensured that the Shrek fans are all happy. The nations favorite ogre appeared on the American TV screens along with his friends and gave the audience one scary ride through the 30 minute special called ‘Scared Shrekless’. The show pulled in a huge number of viewers for the network and has also become a rage on the web ever since it was aired.

The original cast of Shrek the Movie was used for the show and apart from the main characters there were also some of the other fairy tale characters who played an important role in the 30 minute special. The story of ‘Scared Shrekless’ revolves around Shrek (voice of Mike Myers) and his preparation for Halloween. The ogre challenges his best friends, the Donkey and Puss in Boots (voice by Antonio Banderas), to spend the night at the castle of his arch rival, Lord Farquaad. The challenge also includes a scary story telling competition and the last to be scared out of their skin wins the competition.

The Gingerbread Man comes up with the first story called ‘The Bride of Gingy’. Though scary enough, it is followed by the hair raising story told jointly by Puss in Boots and the Donkey, called ‘Boots Motel’., Finally it is the turn of Shrek to share his scary story and he calls it ‘Shreksorcist’. The show was the perfect combination of humor, Halloween horror and some extraordinary animation. The fans are also looking forward to the Shrek spinoff movie ‘Puss In Boots’ that is due to release in November next year.
