Natalie Portman To Star In “Thor” (The Norse God Of Thunder)

portmanthorMarvel Studios have made the announcement that are going to work in favor for the upcoming movie “Thor”. News reports from the movie “Thor” camp has suggested that actress Natalie Portman has been roped in the project to play the character of Jane Foster. The wild speculations regarding Portman’s possible casting had been a making news for quite some time before it was actually confirmed from all fronts that the star had signed on the dotted lines to appear in the movie.

The lead role of the God “Thor” (the Norse God of thunder) is to be essayed by Australian actor Chris Hemsworth and has been tentatively scheduled for a release date of May 20, 2011. Considering the fact that this is Hemsworth’s biggest Hollywood venture it is a safe bet to say that he will be investing a lot of hope in the movie to build up his movie career in US. The movie is supposed to be distributed by Paramount Pictures.

The movie is supposedly being directed by Kenneth Brannagh. Rumors seem to imply that Hollywood stars Jessica Biel and Samuel L. Jackson are touted to make an appearance in the movie.

The Academy Award winning actress is supposed to be very excited about her role in the movie and says that she loves the whole concept of the movie.

The story depicted in the early “Thor” comics shows Jane Foster to the nurse with who Thor falls in love. In the screen adaptation, the character of Jane Foster will be updated in order to keep up with the adaptation. Actor Tom Hiddleston will be seen featured in the movie as the villainous Loki.
