Dec.15, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The fans of Hollywood actress Natalie Portman are going to get a shocking surprise as the lady is all set to appear in a, what can be considered to be the weirdest role of her career. She will be seen in a movie named ‘Pride and Prejudice and Zombies’, which in turn was adapted from a mashup novel having the same name. This may be good news for the zombie lovers though.

However, Natalie Portman is also likely to don the hat of producer for the movie. She will be assisted by Richard Kelly of The Box fame. The so called mashup novel gives a bizarre twist to the classic novel by Jane Austen, where zombies roam in countryside. As one can expect Natalie Portman will essay the role of Elizabeth Bennet, the protagonist of the novel. The other actors for the movie have not been finalized.

However, the release date of the movie is yet to be fixed. As of now, the actress is busy shooting for Black Swan and a lot of her dates are set aside for Thor, a superhero flick. Hence, it can be assumed that the zombie movie will not be released before 2011. It may offend some loyal Jane Austen fans, who may not like blending the theme of the novel with supernatural. It seems that the director for the upcoming flick will be David O. Russell. He has not made any horror flick or period dramas till date though. Adapting a twisted tale based on a Jane Austen novel could be tricky for any director and the subject needs sensitive handling.
